Notably, scheduled tasks don't commence instantly. The single-threaded event loop processes one task at a time. For new tasks to run, current tasks must relinquish control by awaiting unready operations. As tasks yield control, the scheduler progresses through the queue, executing tasks sequentially until they yield. Completed awaited operations return their awaiting tasks to the queue for resumption.
